auld lang syne

Auld lang syne is the poem written by a Scottish poet Robert Burns and is on number 6 of the Google trend today. Written in 1788 and was set to be one of most common tune in English Speaking countries

Let us sing together for the farewell of 2010.

In some countries, it is sang to welcome a new year. However I feel it is more appropriate to sing as a farewell to the 2010, as the lyrics meant it for the "old time sake".

It remind me of the farewell gathering at the end of my school years in 1968. I did not and still am not able to remember the lyrics.

AULD LANG SYNE LYRICS
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne ?
CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp !
and surely I’ll be mine !
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We twa hae run about the braes,
and pu’d the gowans fine ;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,
sin auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We twa hae paidl’d i’ the burn,
frae morning sun till dine ;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin auld lang syne.
CHORUS
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere !
and gie’s a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,
for auld lang syne.

These elements which were thought to be rare are actually exist in abundant, however because they are NOT available in a concentrated deposit, they are difficult and expensive to be mined and extracted.

These elements are highly sought as they are used in the manufacture of cutting-edge technologies products such as metal alloys, magnets, precision-guided weaponry, stealth technology, ceramics, turbines and batteries for mobile phones and laptops.
The main producer of rare earth is China, exporting over 90% of the world requirements.

The hottest Google search trend is on sales after the Christmas.

It had been a tradition that after Christmas is the time for sale. The shops had built up the stock for Christmas and had sold most of the products. They had made a large profit, but there are still stock left. So what can we do about the left over stocks.. gift it away??. No, definitely no, the time of giving is already over, it was supposed to be done before Christmas. It is now time for "SALE".

There are a lot deals in town, be it jewelry, clothings of toys.Shoppers can make the full use of their Christmas money to buy in advance. Normally the sales are available just the day after Christmas.

It make sense to shop around. With internet, just key in your key word.. After Christmas Sale for whatever goods that you are looking for. No wonder it is the search trend as millions will be searching for after christmas sales.

Well, just to check, have you opened all your gifts. You might as well do it. You do not want to buy something in the  sales only to find out that you had received a couple as gifts.

So, you can either check the retailers official website for deals on electronics, laptops, video games and HDTV sets or you can go out shopping on what will surely be a busy but festive day of shopping. Check your local paper for deals and special sales as we are having a great after Christmas Sales.

Nazareth

Nazareth is the largest city in the occupied land by Israel. It is also known as the Arab Capital of Israel, as the population is predominantly Arab. It is also the birth place of Jesus and consequently the center of Christian pilgrimage.

Nazareth 's Demographics

The Israel Central Bureau of Statistics estimates that the population of Nazareth was about 65,000 in 2005. The majority of its residents were Arab, and about 60% were Muslims and 30% were Christan. With th Israel's policy to turn the countries to Jews state, the demography may have greatly change now.

Before the Israel's occupation, in 1948, the population was 95% Arabs, and the Moslems and the Christians had lived peacefully for thousands of years.

Nazareth 's Mayor, Menorah Against Christmas Tree
The tension between the Jews and Christian in Nazareth, the birth place of Christian, have intensified. The Christians demanding to have a tree displayed outside in the open and the Jew, who claim that Israel is the land of the Jews, are opposed to it.This had never happen before when the land of under the Muslims rule for thousand of years.

The city's chief Rabbi Yeshaya Hertzel also expressed opposition to the initiative, arguing, "Nazareth Illit is a Jewish city, and we are in Israel, the Jewish land. The have their neighborhoods and are free to decorate them as they wish. But in the rest of the city, no way. The Menorah and other Jewish symbols are a natural thing in the Jewish city, the Christmas tree are a jarring sight to the Jewish population. This reflect the Jews way, dating back to the days when Jesus was teaching.

religious tourism in Nazareth
Nazareth is the site for the famous "Jesus trail". It begins just outside the city, and the 40 miles trails traces the foot step of Jesus and allows the hardy to walk - quite literally - in the footsteps of Jesus. It's 40 miles long lead to the hills where Jesus was said to deliver the sermon from the Bible. The walk will take about three to five days.

"Tourism is a bridge to peace and dialogue among cultures," Israeli Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov told reporters recently. In recent years, his office has worked to establish access to tour sites in Israel, as well as in the Palestinian territories, he said. In another citing, those who were against Israel said that "Israel takes 95 percent of the benefits (of tourism to Bethlehem)," he said. "Israel uses the name of Bethlehem, since religious tourists go to two places, Bethlehem and Jerusalem."

Israel is rule with military force to justify its ambition to control the land. Those were the 'promised land' that were taken away from them by their GOD as the Israel refused to enter it in humanity. Because of this, they were made to be wanderers for more than 3000 years.

barney miller

Barney Miller is name of a television series created by Arnold and Theodore J and directed by Noam Pitlik. It was set in   a small Village station of Greenwich. The series was broadcasted from 1975 to 1982 on ABC station. The series had made Steve Landesberg, one of the actors, famous and today, the fans mourned his departure.

Barney Miller is the story of the right kind of cop we'd all love to bump onto.He is always on his right mood, sensible and manage to instill discipline onto his rather odd squad, whose favorite past time is gambling and chasing after beautiful young girls.

If anything were remembered about Barney Miller, is that it had  helped to make Steve Landesberg famous. Landesberg was perhaps best known for his role as the intellectual and sometimes annoying Detective Sgt. Arthur Dietrich. The younger generation would know him about his role as a doctor in movie hit in 2008 titled  "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."

The show's focus was split between the detectives' interactions with each other and with the suspects and witnesses they detained, processed, and interviewed. Some typical conflicts and long running plotlines included Miller's frustration with red tape and paperwork, his constant efforts to maintain peace, order, and discipline, and his numerous failed attempts to get a promotion; Harris's preoccupation with outside interests, such as his living arrangements but mainly his novel ("Blood on the Badge"), and his inability to remain focused on his police work; Fish's age-related health issues, marital problems, and reluctance to retire; Wojciehowicz's impulsive behavior and love life; Luger's nostalgia for the old days with partners Foster, Kleiner and Brown; Levitt's quest to become a detective (which was eventually successful); the rivalry between the precinct's resident intellectuals, Harris and Dietrich and continually — but reliably — bad coffee (usually made by Yemana).
Decades after its cancellation, Barney Miller retains a devoted following among real-life police officers, who appreciate the show's emphasis on dialogue and believably quirky characters, and its low-key portrayal of cops going about their jobs. During his appearance on Jon Favreau'sIndependent Film Channel talk show Dinner for Five, Dennis Farina, who worked as a Chicago policeman before turning to acting, calledBarney Miller the most realistic cop show ever seen on television. Hal Linden has told interviewers that he is still occasionally called "Captain" by working police officers

the most common pass words

Now are the world of passwords. I have more then 10 passwords to remember, 3 pin numbers for my banks' Auto Teller machines, 2 for the internet banking. Then I have to remember the office's door combination, the emails passwords, the facebooks and other social networks. It is really hard to keep tract with all these.

So who be blamed if a person sort to 'easy-to-remember' password, there risk  is there, but if he does not do it, there is a bigger risk to forget the passwords.

A research had found out the the most common passwords are:

1. 123456
2. 1234
3. 123456789

That is easy, so every password, I will just use this.

So if you are a hacker, then worth trying these password. When I was working in an airline, the most common password is 'password'. So we tried it on the email, well not to bad, a success rate of about 10%, that was before, the e-mail administrator decided to disable all the common password, so we cannot use the words such as 1234, abcde or password.

But there are choices, you can select 3 good passwords and use them for all your requirement. So you about the most common passwords. It will be safer.

"Kate and William"

"Kate and William" are the two names, much spoken off throughout the world. Both reminded me of the Charles and Dianna, who attracted the headlines in the media across the continents.

Kate Middleton was born in 1982 in Reading, Berkshire. She is the oldest of three children of Carole Elizabeth and Michael Francis Middleton. Kate's parents made a fortune in their mail order company.

Kate loves to put beautiful dress. She was featured in a number of magazines and the Daily Telegraph named her as the "Most Promising Newcomer" in its 2006.

William or his full name, Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales, was born in the same year as Kate in 1982. He is the eldest son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales. Being the first grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, he is second in the line of succession. His father Charles is the next in line to the throne.

They met when they were both freshmen at the University of St Andrews in Scotland

They were engaged on 16 November 2010 and planned to marry on 29 April 2011 in Westminster Abbey. That followed the foot step of his parents. Many prayed that they will lead a happy and meaningful life. The stories of the miseries in Charles and Dianna are still fresh in the memories of many peoples.

Both "Kate and William" made their first public appearance on Saturday night at a cancer fund raising charity in Norfolk. This is their first public appearance since their engagement.

baidu

The number 1 search is for baidu.

It will be a new term for many American. Even for me in Malaysia, with constant contact with China and Chinese, it came as a surprise too.

Baidu is a Chinese Search engine, the like of Google for English search. It started in the year of 2000. It is a large establishment serving billions of users. China alone has about 1.3 billion users and the in fact the world's largest.

It is no surprise that the CEO of Facebook was visiting the company. Currently China is filtering the internet and baidu is doing this for the government.

One of the thing that struck me is the ability of the system to search the Chinese characters. As we know, the Chinese writing originates from the pictorial images of the words. It does not have a letter like the english. A reader will have to recognize thousands of characters before he can read Chinese.

There were rumors circulating that Baidu is going to buy facebook. I don think it is true. Most likely they are working on collaboration. There millions more Chinese Speakers living in other countries. If facebook can have the chinese version, it will work wonders. Beijing headquarters of China’s largest search engine Baidu.

Let us wait and see the outcome of the visit by Facebook CEO to Baidu. Hope there will opportunities for both.
